Massive 75 feet falls
This 2 miles trail with 405 ft elevation gain brings you up to a beautiful Waterfalls. Takes about 1-2 hours depending if you have kids or your dog with you. On your way, you will be able to enjoy nature and see lots of butterflies.
You will be able to have a good point of view, just before starting going down the falls, using the ropes, as you can see below. Has some of you know, I have vertigo so I needed to really go out of my comfort zone to go down the falls. But the feeling I got besides the falls was amazing! We were able to fell the energy! Plus to feel the fume, the breeze, temperature difference between the top to the bottom of the falls.
Doing this hike at 8300 ft altitude was also a challenge for me!

Canyon of Gold
First of all, we strongly suggest to get the $1 booklet at Miner’s Park in Webster City and then start at #1 in Bullion City about 2.5 miles distance as per the booklet map hereby. This visit can be done as a hike or using ATV trails.
Development started in the 1800’s and different companies were mining in the area sometimes having up to 100 employees.
Did you know around 1920, the cost of staying in accommodation like the Datlon Mill and Boardinghouse could have been as high as $1.05 a day with meals priced from 50¢ to $1.00. With wages ranging between $2.00 to $4.00 a day for laborers, muckers (shovelers), timbermen, carmen and blacksmiths, most only made enough to provide the bare essentials. Mine laborers generally worked 10 hours shifts, 6 days a week with Sundays off. They were working long hours while knee-deep in mud or icy water.
Bully Boy Mill
Constructed in 1922, during the peak of theindustry, the mill received ore from Bully Boy adits The Wedge, Dalton, Great Western, Deseret, Cascade, Shamrock and Morning Star Mines. The ruins of the mill measure over 238 feet long and 45 feet wide. Even if the mill was a technological wonder for its time, the mill closed in 1938 because the cost of producing an ounce of gold exceeded the market value of gold which had been set by the government at $35 an ounce. Now deregulated, gold has recently approached $1827 per ounce.

Gold! Gold! Gold! Gold! Bright and yellow, hard and gold Molten, graven, hammered rolled,
Heavy to get and light to hold.

Panning became a hobby with friends
Our friends introduced us to panning. They explained to us where to go, which area to explore, where to watch… We just love being in nature so sometimes we go for a hike, have lunch and then go panning for few hours. It allows us to spend more hours in nature away from the screens and sometimes have surprises, like this hungry deer that came to eat from our friend’s hands.
